Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain – 13 October 2025 – HE Khalid Humaidan, Governor of Central Bank of Bahrain, participated in National Tree Week activities by planting a tree on CBB’s premises alongside senior officials. This participation affirms the importance of environmental efforts in promoting a culture of sustainability, safeguarding natural resources, and enhancing green areas across the Kingdom.

This initiative reflects CBB’s efforts to support the National Afforestation Plan, which aims to plant 3.6 million trees by 2035, in line with the Kingdom’s commitment to reduce carbon emissions by 30% by the same year and to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, in addition to quadrupling mangrove planting by 2035.
